Commonly Asked Questions
DOES ONLINE THERAPY WORK?
Significant gains can be made in online therapy (study 1, study 2, study 3), but it also depends on your readiness to start therapy and your comfort with an online platform. I utilize a HIPPA-compliant video program that allows for screen sharing, file sharing, and whiteboard writing. This allows for a more immersive experience. Outside of the session you'll have access to a client portal where we can securely message and I can upload any needed items that would have been shared with in-person work. Even though online therapy can work, some people still prefer face-to-face work.
DO YOU ACCEPT ALL CLIENTS?
Services tend to be limited to 1 appointment per week. If there are complex diagnoses, crisis concerns, or active suicidal/homicidal thoughts, it's not advisable to be treated through my office. I do not have crisis hours or a back-up team.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Most appointments are 45 minutes long.
WHAT WILL WE FOCUS ON IN TREATMENT?
Treatment is based on the 3-Component model: thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You'll learn to
-
Identify and adjust unhelpful thinking
-
Mindfully notice and experience physical and emotional feelings
-
Choose to be intentional with your behaviors including limiting avoidance behaviors.
WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?
Intake (45 minute) $285
(dependent on the complexity, we may take 2 sessions to complete an intake)
Individual Session (45 minute) $285
